I hope everyone is enjoying their summer. As part of our small group (a.k.a. Village) ministry, we’re going to offer some specific topic-based curriculums. Although we cover a myriad of topics by preaching through various books of the Bible, we rarely cover specific topics in a systematic way.
Seeing as how our relationships with one another represent such a large part of life (including and especially spiritual life) and seeing as how our relationships with the opposite sex represent such a source of both pain and joy, we’ve decided that we need to take a closer look at the status quo of the American hook-up culture, how it influences the church, and what we should do about it.
As such we’d like to invite interested members of the Red Village family to join us in seeking God’s wisdom. We are going to study a book called Sex, Dating, and Relationships. We are going to meet 6 times over the summer beginning the week of July 16th. The women will be meeting Wednesdays at the Collop’s and the guys will be meeting Thursdays at the Tuck’s (except the first and last weeks when everyone will meet together at the Tuck’s on Thursday).
Come if you are single and have been faithful to God and your future spouse. Come if you’ve been burned by fornication. Come if you’re scared to get married. Come if you’ve been married for decades. We need to learn from one another and honor God in how we treat one another.
Let either the Tucks or Collops know if you are coming. We can order books if you give us your money (it’s about $12 at Amazon right now) or you can order it on your own. If you can’t afford a book, let us know and we’ll get it taken care of.
