I’m leading a semester-long course on missions, called Missions Lab. I did this a few years ago, and four of our five church-member missionaries went through that class. The object of the class is to study missions and our role in it. This course is for people who want to go overseas one day, as well as for people who want to be involved in missions from the U.S.
It’s a lot of work, and it’s a lot of fun. We will go through an in-depth study of the book of Acts, read and discuss John Piper’s Let the Nations Be Glad, Skype with a missionary, discuss some of the challenges to being a missionary, and engage in some evangelism. We will meet a total of five times this semester, all on Sunday afternoons, and our first meeting is 2/7 at 2:30pm at the RVC Office (1605 Monroe Street).
