The RVC-North core group met for the second time Friday, August 15th. As we shared in a night of vision, worship, prayer, and fellowship, a very sweet reality was made evident; we are becoming what we desire to be – a local church that looks like its community – diverse. RVC-North is already, as I say, “an eclectic bunch.” Black, White, Asian, and multiple generations are gathering in growing desire to reach Northeast Madison with the Gospel. Perhaps, our desires are giving us a taste of Heaven. After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, [10] and crying out with a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” Revelation 7:9-10 (ESV) Sunday, August 31st, we will assemble for worship, Scripture reading, and prayer. It will be a time when worship and the Scriptures will ready us for intercessory prayer – prayer for future ministries, for the presence of a new church in Northeast Madison, and prayer for our affections to be heightened for Jesus – it will send us to the lost! So…what’s next? Soon our social media sites will be active – website, facebook, and twitter. And soon, Wednesday, September 10th, we will begin meeting weekly for essential core group studies, vision, and prayer. Oh, how we need to meet God together, and grow in a like precious vision and faith together; it is from this season that we will pour out to reach Madison’s northeast, through a local church called Red Village Church-North.
