Red Village Church

RVC North

Here is a little update on our north side plant!

We were talking about war at our Wednesday evening core gathering! And as we talked of war, our affections were being challenged and heightened. Contemplate the talk of our war council with us:  “Do not desire to be rich; be content with the wartime necessities of life. Set your hope fully on God; guard yourself from pride; and let your joy in God overflow in a wealth of liberality to a lost and needy world.” (The Dangerous Duty of Delight – John Piper)

The Red Village Church North core group finds the reality of having much before us – the pioneer work of establishing a local church, and from within the church, the necessity of Gospel outflow for reaching our community and the nations. Already, plans for future ministries are coming forward – where we will meet as a church, developing ministries of mercy and children’s ministries, outreach to Madison college, high school students, and internationals, hosting the Hands of Hope outreach this summer, and discussion of how we will impact the nations. Perhaps, the tasks seem daunting.

War is not an easy life, neither is the Christian life, nor is church planting easy. In fact, one could say that church planting is a dangerous endeavor – it is, if the work is filled with heartless strategies. We discussed war the other night. And we know how we will be enabled to live and work in a wartime existence for reaching our community and the nations “…and let your joy in God overflow in a wealth of liberality to a lost and needy world.” (The Dangerous Duty of Delight – John Piper)

We have much work before us; but above all other things, we are increasingly overwhelmed by God’s grace!

Laboring for the eternal joy of all peoples in Madison, Wisconsin.
